Date: 1820
Title: Floral Design
Antoine Berjon (1754-1843) was a French painter, lithographer, and engraver known for his still-life paintings and botanical illustrations. He was born in Saint-Pierre-de-Vaise, a suburb of Lyon, France, and began his artistic training at a young age. Berjon's work was influenced by the Dutch still-life tradition and he became known for his highly detailed and realistic depictions of flowers, fruit, and other objects. He was also skilled in the use of color, creating vivid and lifelike compositions.
In addition to his paintings, Berjon was also a talented lithographer and engraver, and his work was widely distributed in books and other publications. He was particularly well-known for his illustrations of plants and flowers, which were used in scientific texts and botanical journals.
Throughout his career, Berjon received numerous honors and awards, including the Legion of Honor, and his work was exhibited at the Salon de Paris. He continued to paint and create art until his death in 1843, leaving behind a legacy of beautifully rendered still-life paintings and botanical illustrations that continue to inspire and captivate viewers today.
Your artwork will replicate authentic paintings found in museums; using the same ink, paper and printing methods they do.
Our archival Giclée prints are loved for their vibrant colour range and the handmade feel of their beautifully textured papers. Each piece of Heritage Art is printed on 312gsm fine art media. The print you will receive is made from 100% cotton pulp, guaranteed to last hundreds of years without fading or discolouration.
Our pigment ink has longevity rates of over 100 years. We use eight different ink colours profiled to match the archival paper to achieve a perfectly colour accurate reproduction of the original art piece.
Our board mounted prints are the traditional way of displaying your artwork and provide added protection from warping in the frame over time. Board mounted prints can also be displayed without a frame.
The process of archival art mounting involves fixing your artwork to an acid-free substrate. This enables your print to sit flat, either directly onto a wall or in a frame. Made from 100% virgin fibre, with a 2mm thickness, board mounted prints are an exceptionally light and cost-effective mount for creating a beautiful flat print prior to framing.
Unmounted prints are printed onto the same exceptional fine art paper and will require framing.
